Tasha Shepard (ETHS ’01) has been appointed as head coach of the Evanston Township High School varsity girls soccer team. The District 202 school board approved the appointment Monday, November 22, 2010.
“We’re thrilled to have one of our own at the helm of girls soccer. Coach Shepard knows our strong tradition of soccer excellence from both a player and coach perspective and is eager to make her own mark on the program going forward,” said athletic director Chris Livatino.
Coach Shepard has served as varsity assistant for the Lady Kits the past five years and has coached Team Evanston for six years. She played semi-pro soccer two years after earning All-American honors at Elmhurst College, where she was a four-time All-Conference selection.
She was a communications and English major at Elmhurst. At ETHS, she earned honorable mention All-State and All-Conference accolades her senior year while leading the Wildkits to Conference and Sectional championships.
Coach Shepard currently serves as an academic intervention teacher at Chute Middle School in Evanston.
