Evanston City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz announced today, Dec. 7, the appointment of Catherine Hurley as the City’s new Sustainable Programs Coordinator. Ms. Hurley started with the City today.
Ms. Hurley comes to the City from MWH Americas Inc. where she has been a Supervising Project Manager and Resource Efficiency Management Group Leader since 2003, said the City in a prepared statement. MWH is a large international water, wastewater, engineering and environmental services company. While at MWH, Catherine managed a water conservation and protection program for the DuPage Water Commission, conducted a baseline inventory of greenhouse gases for the City of Rockford, her group managed a renewable energy program for the City of Chicago and participated in a variety of water and wastewater system evaluation studies around the Chicago area.
Ms. Hurley has a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Dayton, is a Registered Professional Engineer, a LEED Accredited Professional and was named the 2009 Young Civil Engineer of the Year by the Illinois section of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
She grew up in Wilmette and lives there with her husband.
