On Jan. 11, at 12:27 p.m. Evanston police were notified of a burglary in progress in the 800 block of Hartrey. Once on scene, a witness told police he saw three unknown black males run from the area, one of whom was carrying a television, said Commander Tom Guenther, public information officer of the Evanston Police Department. Police followed footprints in the snow leading from the scene to a residence in the 2200 block of Madison. Officers received additional information which led to the residence, said the Commander. 

Additional police officers arrived and set up a perimeter, said the Commander. Police were able to enter and search the residence, and they found the suspects in the attic. The officers recovered various proceeds, including purses, and, jewelry from the suspects, said the Commander.

Two of the men, each 18, were charged with one felony count for residential burglary. A 16 year old juvenile was charged with residential burglary and will be petitioned to juvenile court said the Commander. All of the suspects are residents of Evanston.
