More than 240 high school juniors and seniors present The Wiz, this weekend’s 60th anniversary McGaw YMCA Brillianteen show. It’s the YMCA’s commitment to youth development at its finest. Whether their spark is performing in front of or behind the curtain, these teens shine. There are no cuts in this league and no youth is turned away for inability to pay. The Youth Showboard includes 24 students who are leading the production in all areas – business, technical, and performance.
This year marks the retirement of 17-year volunteer director, Judy Kemp, and musical volunteers Linda and Jan Perney who have a combined 31 years with Brillianteen. Along with 27-year volunteer Cindi Schuneman, more than 20 other adult volunteers provide youth support, guidance, mentoring, and coaching. A huge thank you to all. Please “ease-on down the road” to King Lab School and support our brilliant teens and some amazing adult volunteers. Go to www.mcgawymca.org for ticket information – the show closes with this Sundays matinee. Thank you.
