Dear editor,
I am writing today to encourage you to join me in voting for Richard
Rykhus for District 65 School Board. After hearing Richard speak at a neighborhood coffee about his goals for the District, I was struck by his passion and commitment.
Richard cares deeply about education, about fairness and doing the right thing for kids. He definitely understands the value of diversity in our community and his respect for all people, regardless of disability, race or economic background shines
through.
Richard represents what this community is about. He has a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy. It is clear Richard has high ethical standards and the desire that each of our kids reach their full potential, no matter what their circumstances.
I am also confident that Richard understands that his job on the board is, first and foremost, to represent the voters, and that he will be a strong voice in support of appropriate board governance. He will engage in a truly collaborative approach to meet the District’s challenges.
