More than 50 business leaders and community members from the Evanston, Skokie and surrounding areas were arrested and put behind bars for having a “good heart,” on March 23 from noon until 4 p.m. to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) – Chicago.

Jailbirds called friends, family and business associates to ask for donations in order to make their bail of $1,600. They served their one
hour of jail time at the MDA Jailhouse located at the Davis Street Fish Market, 501 Davis St., in Evanston. All jailbirds were released with a clean record and MDA’s sincerest appreciation for raising funds to help those affected by neuromuscular diseases in their communities.
