Police arrested two juvenile males, 15 and 16, in connection with a robbery on a northbound CTA train as it approached South Blvd. at about 4:16 p.m. on March 31; both reside in Chicago, said Commander Tom Guenther, public information officer of the Evanston Police Department. A third juvenile involved in the incident remains at large, he said.

One of the juveniles allegedly punched an Evanston man in the forehead and took his laptop computer; a second offender allegedly held open the train door to facilitate their escape; and a third subject also ran from the train with the other two, said the Commander. They all fled down the train station platform staircase.

Evanston police responded into the area of Howard St. and Paulina St. in Chicago, looking for the three offenders. While conducting this canvas, officers located three suspects. As officers approached these suspects, the suspects began to flee on foot. Officers then gave chase and were able to detain two of the three suspects. After questioning, the officers conducted a safety search of the suspects, and found the laptop computer in one of the juveniles backpack, said the Commander. The juveniles were later identified in a lineup as the offenders, he said.
