The charitable donation by the Rotary Club was extended to local organizations as a part of the club’s ongoing effort to benefit youth in Evanston and to promote literacy. Rotary International and its local clubs have funded literacy programs around the world.

The Infant Welfare Society of Evanston was honored for its commitment to the care and early education of infants and toddlers and to supporting their families’ efforts to be self-sufficient providers and effective parents. IWSE is a 98-year-old, highly-respected nonprofit social service organization that focuses on the needs of the youngest, neediest members of our community.

“We provide high-quality full-day childcare and early education services as well as supportive services and parenting support. By offering education to families who are living at risk and who are parenting infants and toddlers, IWSE acts as an advocate, care-taker, and champion for children who live in poverty, who exhibit developmental delays, who live in situations of homelessness or domestic violence, or who are parented by teen parents,” said Ms. Wolfe.
