The Evanston Township High School PTSA will host an introductory college planning program for sophomores and their parents at 7:30 p.m. on April 26 in room N-112 at ETHS, 1600 Dodge Ave. The program, which will be led by Ms. Beth Arey, College and Career coordinator at ETHS, will focus on the college application process, what colleges are looking for and scholarship opportunities. Ms. Arey also will discuss how students, even during sophomore year, can prepare for college. An optional tour of the College and Career Center will follow the presentation.

“Even if you have sent older students on to a school of higher education after graduation from ETHS, you will find that there is more to know and that each student presents different needs in planning for college,” said Ms. Arey. She also noted that students can ask for help in the College and Career Center about career choices, ACT preparation, searching for colleges and scholarships, college visits, completing applications and essay review.

All ETHS sophomores and their parents and guardians are invited to this free event. Of course, all ETHS students and their parents are welcome to attend. More information is available by contacting Mary Jo Boyer, ETHS PTSA co-president, at or 847-475-7502.
