Students at Washington School celebrated Earth Day by exploring the wonders of nature near the school. Volunteers took small groups of kids out on Neighborhood Nature Quests to discover the wonders of nature that are right in the neighborhood. Children followed maps, and volunteers wrote down their discoveries. Earlier quests resulted in sightings of nesting mourning doves, a downy woodpecker in action and numerous squirrels, nests and interesting plants and trees. Photo courtesy of Washington School
