Last season, ETHS girls lacrosse finished with an overall record of 5-16 and ended the season on a sour note, losing to top-ranked and eventual state champion Loyola Academy 20-1 in the sectional round.

The Kits had an opportunity to get even with Loyola in a rematch of the playoff game in the season-opener on March 17. They were unable to do so, losing 18-2.

But two days later, the Kits were able to bounce back, beating Vernon Hills 16-7 at home. With the win, the Kits improved to 1-1 on the season. From there they lost four straight, including a 25-1 defeat against archrival New Trier in the Central Suburban League South Conference opener. In the March 25-26 Loyola Tournament they weredefeated by Harpeth Hall (TN), Sycamore (OH) and Montini Catholic.

After the Loyola Tournament, the Kits returned home on Mar. 29 and beat Regina Dominican, 23-4. On March 31, they met Northside College Prep and won 22-6, giving the Kits a two-game winning streak.

After a two-week break, the Kit played on April 14 against Glenbrook South losing 18-2. On April 16, they lost to Arrowhead (WI), 18-7.

Then the Kits took on John Burroughs High School (MO) and lost, 15-3. In conference play, they took on Glenbrook North on April 20 and lost, 16-14. With the loss, the Kits record stands at 3-9 overall and 0-3 in Conference play.

On April 26, the Kits took on Highland Park in Evanston under the lights, the day this paper went to press. Next up, they face Oak-Park River Forest on April 28, Eden Prairie on April 30 and Stevenson on May 4.

If the Kits can produce more performances like those against Regina and Northside, look for them to have a strong finish to the season and to make some noise at sectionals in late May.
