The Dewey School Fun Run is Friday, May 20 from 5-7pm. In this event, students from all grades raise money for Dewey by running laps in the school field (inclement weather– school gym). All students and their families are encouraged to participate in this event, the school’s largest fundraiser of the year. Kids of all ages can participate join the fund, play games (with prizes!), eat together, and enter to win valuable raffle prizes! Dewey is located at 1551 Wesley Avenue. King Lab Magnet School presents “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in the King Lab Courtyard where an ensemble of 8th grade students will perform a 30-minute abridged version of the Shakespeare tale under the direction of drama teacher, Ms. Jamie Querciagrossa. The school’s courtyard will sparkle with fairies, fantastic characters, and the language of the great Bard of Avon! There will be daytime performances for King Lab students May 19 and 20, and an evening performance on Thursday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. Parents are invited to attend any of the performances. Orrington Elementary School located at 2600 Colfax Street, Evanston, plans to enjoy some spring weather at its annual Fun Run and Picnic, Friday, May 20 at 5:30 p.m. Students run laps to show their school spirit and receive prizes. The PTA provides burgers and hotdogs, while families are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. The party continues until sundown.
Park School Fun Fest May 26 from 6 to 8 pm is a carnival event, with a bounce house, dunk tank, games, prizes, and Food. There is no entrance fee, but there is a price for tickets for food and games. There will also likely be live music this year! This is a fundraiser for Park School, but mostly it is a chance for families to come and interact with each other. Everyone is welcome!
