Relay For Life is no ordinary event; it is a unique, personal experience, where the community joins with the American Cancer Society to help create a world where lives are saved and more birthdays are celebrated. On Saturday, May 21 at Evanston Township High School, Relay For Life of Evanston will bring the community together to celebrate the lives of those who have cancer, remember loved ones lost to the disease, honor caregivers and fight back against a disease that takes too much.

Relay For Life of Evanston is open to the public and registration begins at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 at Evanston Township High School. Community members are encouraged to stop by and enjoy the food, games, music and special activities going on throughout the evening. Entertainment for this event includes a local improv group, kickboxing, line dancing and vocalists. Featured on-site fundraising activities include purple hair extensions by Steven Papageorge Salon, face painting and balloon creations.

Funds raised through Relay provide day-to-day and emotional support services for area patients and their families, cancer research, community educational programs and advocacy initiatives.
