Friend of the Markets will host a “Scarecrow Bee” between 8 and 11 a.m. on May 28 at the downtown Farmers’ Market. Families are invited to come and help make these crop-saving effigies for the vendors at the market.

The Friends’ tent will be near the southwest corner of the parking lot, near the railroad tracks. Donations of old, raggedy adult-sized pants and shirts,
work gloves, straw hats, large buttons, hemp rope and cotton neck scarves will be welcomed.

There will be a drawing from the names of all the food-producing farmers to award the best scarecrow.
