The Youth Job Center of Evanston hosted a record 415 people at its annual gala held on May 7 at the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago. The supportive crowd marked the largest ticket sales in YJC history and contributed to raising over $100,000 for the agency’s job-readiness and training programs.
One of the evening’s highlights was a tribute to Dr. Dale T. Mortensen, 2010 Nobel Prize-winner in economics and Northwestern University professor. The program featured three YJC client speakers: Matthew Morris, Shytasha Foster and Guadalupe Silva.
