NU Norris Summer 2011 Mini-Courses Begin July 11

Consider spending part of the summer improving barbecue skills, learning how to design and plant a window box garden or creating hand-crafted tea bags with sustainably grown dried herbs. Personal instruction on these and other leisure activities are among the Norris “Mini Courses” available on Northwestern University’s Evanston campus starting July 11.

Open to the public, the informative one-day workshops and five-week non-credit courses take place at Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive, on the University’s Evanston campus. Designed to offer individual attention in a relaxed and informal environment, the courses help participants fine-tune their skills in food preparation, arts and crafts, language, music and more.

Summer 2011 course highlights include ballroom dance, BBQ tips and techniques, billiards, cake decorating, ceramics, darkroom photography, drawing, gardening, fiction writing, German, graphic design, herbal tea making, puppet making, tai-chi, T-shirt screen printing, yoga and watercolor.
