Last month, as part of National Nursing Home Week, the Health Care Council of Illinois recognized “heroes” of long-term care facilities in Illinois – dedicated staff members and residents who have made meaningful contributions to their facilities.
Those honored included Belen Deleon, Director of Nursing at Evanston Nursing Rehab Center, located at 1300 Oak Ave. Administrator of the Evanston Nursing Rehab Center, Heather Levine said, “Belen is one of the most dedicated staff members I have ever worked with. She genuinely cares about each and every resident at our facility. Having over 20 years of experience as a Director of Nursing, she has shown herself to be truly outstanding. Her work ethic as well as her commitment to our staff and residents is a great example of what every facility would hope for in their Director of Nursing.”
Richelle P. Hofilena, Director of Nursing at Alden Estates of Evanston, located at 2520 Gross Point Rd, was also honored. Ms. Hofilena was said to be “extremely dedicated and works whatever amount of time is needed to ensure the residents have the best care possible.” She was honored for having “an awesome team spirit and shows this by taking the time to mentor staff. Richelle has a great heart and shows this to the residents every day. She is organized beyond belief and helps other team members, including directors, stay organized.”
“These people truly represent the heart and soul of Illinois’ long-term care facilities. They are committed to optimizing the health, outlook and well-being of the residents we serve,” said Pat Comstock, executive director of the Health Care Council of Illinois.
