This Fourth of July, Evanston is offering a variety of activities throughout the day. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., playground sports and games will be offered at Lincolnwood School, Willard School, Robert Crown Park and Elks Park.

     At 2 p.m. the Evanston Fourth of July Parade on Central Street will begin.

     From 7:30 to 9 p.m. the Palatine Concert Band will perform the Twilight Concert at the Dawes Park Lagoon, and at 9:15 p.m. the Lakefront Fireworks will take place. The fireworks will be launched from Clark Street Beach, and they can be viewed from any part of the lakefront east of Downtown Evanston. To listen to the music that goes along with the fireworks, tune into 90.5 FM.
