“I’m pleased to bring top-notch bike racing to Evanston again this summer,” said race director Chris Mailing. “We’ve got several new activities and sponsors which will make this year’s event better than ever, and we’re expecting 15 to 20,000 spectators who will thrill to watch professional men and women cyclists from 40 states and 20 countries navigate our downtown course that has been described as ‘tight, technical and exciting’.”
Mr. Mailing continued, “New sponsors this year include CLIF SHOT, Goose Island Beer Co., St. Francis Hospital, Allvoi telecommunications. Returning sponsors include Autobarn VW, SRAM bicycle components, Whole Foods Market, Downtown Evanston, the Hilton Garden Inn, The Evanston Review, and Allegra Design, Print, and Signs.”
Mr. Mailing described some other activities at this year’s event, “Check out the Beer Garden, where Goose Island will be serving their 312 Urban Wheat Ale. Stroll through our lively Festival Area with tent displays from our many sponsors. Enter your child in the Whole Foods Market Kids’ Races. And watch it all from one of 30 restaurants right on the racecourse, many with outdoor dining.”
This year’s event will again be part of the International Cycling Classic
