Last weekend the home of Todd and Monica Rogers of “Skevanston” was transformed into the performance venue called “The Pig and Weasel.” The name comes comes from the notion, they say, that their home-turned-salon will be a place “where ideas pop and dreams fly.”

Performers are not paid, but the audience helps them out by passing the hat, in this case, via donations to “the boot.” “Renegade Lightning Rebellion,” who played Saturday, is a group of classically, jazz- and self-trained young musicians who have just released the CD “Four Statues.”

They will perform July 27 at the Tonic Room at 2447 N. Halsted in Lincoln Park.
