After four years as Board President of Foundation 65, Patty Barbato is taking on a new role as leader of the Foundation 65 Advisory Committee. Lee Cabot will assume the role of Board President.
“Patty has been a driving force within Foundation 65 since becoming board president in 2007,” said Foundation 65 Executive Director Lise Jinno. “During her tenure, Patty helped bring strategic focus to Foundation 65 while broadening the reach of the organization by investing in programs that impact as many students and schools as possible. Under Patty’s leadership, Foundation 65 has grown by leaps and bounds, more than doubling our donor base and increasing the amount of grant dollars disbursed by 50 percent.”
Ms. Cabot will be taking over as board president, transitioning from her role as board treasurer. Ms. Cabot earned her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and has been an Evanston resident for more than 15 years. “She has a wealth of knowledge of non-profit work and of the Evanston community and is passionate about making a difference in public education for all students,” said Ms. Jinno.
Foundation 65 also announced that three persons have been added to the Board: Carolyn Castellini (fundraising), Christyne Dzwierzynski (co-chair of marketing and communications) and Diane Lequar (chair of finance).
Foundation 65 raises and grants funds for literacy and arts projects that expand, enrich, and complement educational opportunities for the students in School District 65. It is an independent operating foundation with its own volunteer board. Since 2003, it has invested over $400,000 in more than 55 projects and programs making an impact at every school in the District.
