The Ted Fund will be holding a benefit at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 10 at the Woman’s Club of Evanston, 1702 Chicago Avenue, Evanston. Tickets are $100 for a single (Ace), $175 for two (Deuce). For tickets or more information go to www.tedfund.org

The TED FUND addresses the education and social gap in Evanston between the haves and the have-nots.  In partnership with school District 65, the Fund enables children from families with limited financial resources (one third of local children) to participate in all kinds of after-school programs most kids take for granted: summer camps, music and art classes, organized sports activities, computer experience, mentoring, and other enrichment–by awarding three year scholarships to third grade students of need.  During 2011, over 100 kids took part in Ted Fund summer and school year programming; the organization hopes to increase the number of participants during this, its 14th year. All donations go directly to help needy children in Evanston, since the Fund is 100% volunteer-run and housed in office space that is donated.
