Ten artists at Three Crowns displayed “Elder Art” in the hallways last month.

Robert Swikart said the project began when artist Tracy Pearson and her partner Robin painted a huge mural in the stairwell of the old building. They taught residents of Three Crowns some painting techniques and resident volunteers helped paint the mural. As an outgrowth of this experience, Ms. Pearson began to offer an art class twice a week at Three Crowns, at which she teaches about 10 residents how to mix colors, how to use brushes and provides encouragement.

Ms. Pearson said of the paintings displayed in the halls, “Looking at everyone’s work, they all are pretty good.”
