“At Celebrating Experience: A Gallery of Art by Older Adults.” SASI (Services for Adults Staying in Their Homes) held a reception for artists John Macsai of Evanston and Essie Landsman of Glenview at SASI’s Celebrating Experience Gallery, 1123 Emerson Street, on Aug. 12.

Mr. Macsai, a well-known architect in the Chicago area for 50 years and a professor emeritus at University of Illinois-Chicago, where he taught architectural design for 26 years, has been a serious painter since 1991.
He has had a solo show at the Chicago Cultural Center and other venues and his sketches are in the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago. A number of his water color paintings are on display in the SASI exhibit.

All art on display is available for sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting SASI, a community nonprofit that helps adults who, due to aging, illness or injury, need assistance in the home. Gallery visiting hours are Wednesdays and Fridays or by appointment.

The exhibit runs through Nov. 4.
