Evanston residents Tiffini Holmes and Vonyea Ruff have much in common:  They went to elementary school, middle school and high school together; they attended Michigan State University together, and together they learned that both their fathers had prostate cancer.

Friends for life, Tiffini and Vonyea, together with their dads, have been working hard to raise awareness for early detection of prostate cancer.  On Sept. 18 they will participate in the 2011 SEA Blue Prostate Cancer Walk/Run and are raising funds to fight this deadly disease.

“Our families have been friends forever.  So now we’re going through this together too,” said Tiffini.
