 Evanston Police are investigating an apparent robbery that took place on Friday, Sept. 2 at approximately 5:20 a.m. When police responded, they found a man on the ground bleeding near the Marathon Gas Station at 555 Howard St. The man, who is hearing impaired, was walking on the sidewalk when two subjects approached him, and one subject struck the man in the head, said Commander Tom Guenther, public information officer of the Evanston Police Department. The man had items removed from his pants pockets and was transported to St. Francis Hospital for treatment where he remains, said the Commander. 

The offenders are described as follows: 

#1  Male/Black, tall & thin, in his 20’s, wearing a red shirt and a navy blue ball cap 

#2  Male/Black, heavy set, in his 20’s, wearing a white t-shirt. 

The Evanston Police Department is seeking the assistance in identifying the subjects. 

Citizens having information regarding this crime or the identification of the suspects can contact the Evanston Police Departments Detective Bureau, at (847)866-5040. Information can also be sent via text by texting from a cellular phone EPDTIP sending information to “274637”. All texting tips remain anonymous, said the Commander.
