On Sept. 14 at approx. 12:25 p.m., Evanston Police responded to a call of an armed robbery at Emerson Street and Brown Avenue. Two victims,17 and 18, said five male juveniles robbed them, taking money and a cell phone, and that one of the offenders was armed with a silver colored handgun, said Commander James Parrott, public information officer of the Evanston Police Department.
The victims said the offenders fled on foot and were seen running into a house in the 1900 block of Emerson Avenue, said the Commander. Police went to the house and located five persons whom the victims subsequently identified as the robbers. Police also recovered a cell phone and currency from the residence, which items were identified as belonging to the victims. Police were unable to locate a handgun.
As a result of the police investigation, five juveniles, ages 13 to 15, were each charged with one count of aggravated robbery.
