Evanston Police responded to a call of a home intruder in the 400 block of Lee Street on Sept. 15 at approximately 4 a.m., said Commander Jay Parrott of the Evanston Police Department. Police were told an unknown man entered the home through an unlocked door, and then entered the bedroom of a 16 year old female, said the Commander. The man allegedly threw a blanket over the female and grabbed her legs. She screamed, alerting other residents in the house and causing the man to flee out the rear door, said the Commander.
Shortly, before this incident was reported to police, a police patrol officer saw a man running through the school grounds at Lincoln school. The man refused instructions to stop and he attempted to elude the officer. He was subsequently located hiding in the bushes in a rear yard in the 700 block of Forest Avenue, said the Commander.
This man is being held as a person of interest in the home intruder call, and the investigation is on-going, said the Commander.
