The lively beats from Gus Redmond’s street jam at the West End Market and from Center Stage on Maple Avenue offered entertainment for all ages.

A guitarist who delighted children and their parents with traditional songs and sing-alongs around the noon hour at CenterStage. By about 2 p.m. music from the street jam echoed from the walls of Evanston Township High School, across the street from the market.

Evanstonian Melanie Davis was one of the featured singers. The choreography – and the singing – of Chicago-based band 4 AM was the central attraction of Mr. Redmond’s street jam. While the street jam lasted only until mid-afternoon, the fun at CenterStage continued until 9 p.m.
