Romantic favorites – and a gifted young pianist – will be the highlights of the opening concert of the Evanston Symphony Orchestra, conducted by music director Lawrence Eckerling, 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 23 at Pick-Staiger concert hall on the Northwestern University campus.
The concert will feature Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 “Unfinished” in B Minor and Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8 in G Major, as well as Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major, to be performed by 17-year-old virtuoso pianist Colton Peltier.
Tickets are available online at www.evanstonsymphony.org or by calling 847-864-8804; also at the box office on the day of the concert at slightly increased prices for adults and seniors, with prices for student and child tickets unchanged.
