This weekend residents may vote for their favorites among 100 ideas winnowed from the more than 2000 ideas submitted by Evanston residents to help celebrate the City’s sesquicentennial.

Evanston150 is a group of civic leaders who decided to ask the community to come up with ideas big and small about how they would like the City to look in the next 20 years. A selection committee winnowed the more than 2000 ideas submitted by mail and online to the 100 reprinted below. Voting results will further refine these submissions to 30. These will be ultimately reduced to 10 “great ideas” that will be implemented in the next few years as a celebration of Evanston’s 150th anniversary – a way of looking to the future while appreciating the past.

Residents may vote on Oct. 15 at 9:30 or 11 a.m. at the Century Cinema, 1715 Maple Ave., or at 2 or 3:30 p.m. in room N112 at Evanston Township High School, 1600 Dodge Ave., Bacon Entrance. On Oct. 16, residents may vote at 1, 2:15 or 3:30 p.m. at St. Francis Hospital, 355 Ridge Ave.Top 100 Ideas
