As part of the Evanston (CTA Purple Line) Viaduct Replacement Project, work will be begin on Oct. 31 that will affect the Dempster Street viaduct between Sherman Avenue and Sherman Place as part of the work on the $10.3 million contract to replace the Purple Line viaducts at Grove, Dempster and Greenleaf Streets in Evanston as well as repair the retaining wall along Chicago Avenue from Greenleaf to Hamilton.

The work is expected to continue through Nov. 18. Between Oct. 31 and Nov. 18, Dempster Street between Sherman Place and Sherman Avenue will be closed to thru traffic. One sidewalk will be kept open at all times for pedestrian traffic.
