Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra kicked off its 65th anniversary season with a concert by the organization’s symphony orchestra at Chicago’s Orchestra Hall. Under the baton of music director Allen Tinkham, the orchestra performed works by Strauss, Prokofiev, Barber and Scriabin. Evanstonians Benjamin Fleischacker (cello) and Daniel Mills (clarinet) were among the extraordinary young musicians from the Chicago area who played in the CYSO concert earlier this month.
