The Evanston Lighthouse Rotary Club is gearing up for its annual holiday sale to raise money for their local and international humanitarian projects.  Recent projects include renovating the kitchen at a shelter for battered women, supporting a local food pantry, providing clothes to needy children, drilling water wells in Nigeria, building latrines in Burkina Faso, establishing a dental clinic in Ecuador, and many more.

Members of the club are offering friends, neighbors, business associates and relatives with a panoply of holiday items including poinsettias and other flowers, wreaths, garland, Florida grapefruits and oranges, honey glazed hams, gourmet nuts and trail mix.  They hope to raise more than $60,000 to continue their charitable projects in 2012.

The Evanston Lighthouse Rotary Club meets Tuesdays from 7:15 to 8:30 am at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1818 Maple Avenue, Evanston, Illinois 60201, for breakfast and  a speaker.  Membership is open to service oriented residents and workers of the area.  Guests are welcome to attend the meetings.  To learn more about the holiday sale as well as the club, its schedule of lunch programs and its charitable and service programs, visit www.evlrc.org.
