Attendees at the annual meeting of the Evanston Environmental Association, held at the Ecology Center on Dec. 4, honored Oliver Rickman, the members of the Ladd Arboretum Committee and Linda Lutz for their stewardship of the environment. In presenting the Ecology Center Critter Crew Service Award to Oliver, Claire Alden, lead program manager of the Ecology Center, praised his openness and his generosity in sharing information with anyone who dropped into the Center to see the animals.
The Ecology Center Volunteer of the Year award went to Ladd Arboretum Committee, who in several ways made the arboretum more attractive. In presenting the Omohundro Environmental Service Award to Ms. Lutz, EEA president Fred Schneider said, “is what environmental service is all about. … Linda has always strived to live as gently as she can on the earth and help other learn how to do so as well.”
