The deadline for purchasing and displaying 2012 Evanston vehicle stickers residential parking permits has been extended to January 5, 2012. Applications were mailed out in September. Residents are highly encouraged to mail in their applications and payment as soon as possible.

City Code 10-8-1 requires all vehicles registered to an Evanston address to pay an annual wheel tax and properly display a valid city vehicle sticker. The cost for a regular passenger car vehicle sticker is $75. For rates on other vehicle types, call 3-1-1 or visit

A penalty of 50% of the fee will be added to all applications received after January 5, 2012 (a regular vehicle sticker will cost $113 rather than $75).

Vehicle Sticker Purchases at Morton Civic Center

In Person If a resident is purchasing a vehicle sticker and a residential parking permit (combo sticker), they must either purchase them via mail or in person at the City Collector’s Office at the Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave. Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. If a resident is purchasing a vehicle sticker in person, they must have their Illinois vehicle registration with them. For residents who did not receive an application in the mail or the information is not current/correct, they can print off an application from the city’s website or pick one up in person at the Collector’s Office.

Where else can I purchase my Vehicle Sticker?

For residents who are just purchasing a vehicle sticker and the application that was mailed to them is correct, they can purchase a sticker online at www.cityofevanston.org/sticker.

Additionally, residents who are purchasing just a vehicle sticker with the application that was mailed to them can purchase their stickers at the Levy Senior Center (300 Dodge Ave.)or at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center (1655 Foster St.). Expanded sales hours and these two centers are daily, Mon. – Fri., 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. during the renewal season. If a resident is purchasing a vehicle sticker in person, they must have their Illinois vehicle registration with them.

Residents who are purchasing just a vehicle sticker with their correct preprinted forms that were mailed to them can also purchase their vehicle stickers at any Evanston Currency Exchanges. Residents must have with them their Illinois vehicle registration.

Evanston Benefit Card

Seniors, 65 and older, fulfilling income requirements, are eligible for a 50% discount on one vehicle sticker per household by obtaining an Evanston Benefit Card Senior Discount Card. If a resident applied for and received a discount card last year, it will NOT be valid this year. Seniors that do not have a current Benefit Card may apply for one at the Levy Center.
