 The legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be remembered at a free “Day of Celebration” starting at noon on Saturday, Jan. 14 at Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, 1655 Foster St., Evanston. This event is co-sponsored by the City of Evanston’s Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center and Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre.

The afternoon promises to be inspiring, as well as entertaining. The special guest is “you & me THIS MORNING” personality Jeanne Sparrow from WCIU Channel 26 “The U.” Aubrey Marquez will be the Master of Ceremony and guest artists include The Evanston Children’s Choir; Ajoite Drum & Percussion and the Glass Family Drummers; Evanston Community Drill Team; Christ Temple Praise Dancers; bluesman Vince Agwada; recording artist Sakari; and the Fleetwood-Jourdain Singing Fourtet. Speakers include Alderman Delores A.
