Twenty-six student musicians from Evanston Township High School will join students from nine other area high schools in al, 1285 McKinley Rd. in Lake Forest. The concert, which is free and open to the public, begins at 3:00 pm.

Students were chosen to perform in the Northshore Honor Bands based on recommendations from their high school’s band directors. Under the baton of two guest conductors from Northwestern University – Timothy Robblee, Associate Director of Bands, and Daniel Farris, Assistant Director of Bands – the students will spend two days in rehearsal, culminating in the Jan. 14 concert.

ETHS students chosen to participate are (Grades 9-10 Band): Flute: Angela Wong; oboe: Rachel Clemens; bassoon: Elena Marcotte; clarinet: Erin Rosenfeld, Josh Davidoff, Michaela Homer; alto sax: Jack Caplan; trumpet: Nic Slaggert; horn: Ben Foutty; trombone: Caroline Mattox; baritone: Edith Block; tuba: Emy Urban; and percussion: Joe Bricker; Grades 11-12 Band: Flute: David Flowers; oboe: Eleanor Goerss; clarinet: Daniel Mills, Troy Zwolinski, Lukas Gladic; bass clarinet: Rachel Jones; trumpet: Nathaniel Mitchell, Jessie Kennedy; trombone: Erin Reifler; baritone: Dominique Watson; tuba: Philip Strunk; and percussion: Jonah Angulo-Hurtig.

YoungArts Award Winners

Two students from Evanston Township High School have been named 2012 YoungArts Award winners by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA): senior Eleanor Kirk, who plays the harp, and senior Matthew Dunietza, a percussionist.
