Evanston Police this past weekend investigated allegations that a 15 year-old female victim was sexually assaulted by a 20 year-old male from Chicago after hanging out with friends and consuming alcohol in the 1700 block of Brown Avenue, said Commander Jay Parrott of the Evanston Police Department.
The 15 year old victim reported the incident to her mother after arriving at home on Friday night, Jan. 20, at approximately 11:15 p.m., said the Commander. Evanston Police Juvenile Bureau investigators picked up the investigation and were able to locate a suspect on the scene where the incident took place, he said. Further investigation revealed that the victim was in the company of friends along with the suspect and other male acquaintances while consuming alcohol and after some time had passed, the victim accompanied the suspect alone to his vehicle, the Commander said. The victim alleges the suspect forced himself on her to have sexual intercourse, the Commander said.
Evanston police located a loaded handgun in the suspect’s vehicle; the handgun was not used in the alleged sexual assault, said the Commander. The suspect has been arrested on charges of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse – a Class 2 Felony, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor – a Class A Misdemeanor, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons – a Class 4 Felony.
