With 100 percent of the votes counted, School District 65’s referendum has failed. The referendum to pursue dissolution of the Evanston Township government and the referendum for the City of Evanston to have the authority to aggregate electricity each passed by a wide margin.

The results of the referendum questions are below.

District 65 referendum for middle-school upgrades and a new school:

100 percent of precincts reporting:

Yes: 45.21 percent

No: 54.79 percent

Advisory referendum on pursing dissolution of Evanston Township government:

100 percent of precincts reporting

Yes: 66.94 percent

No: 33.06 percent

Electricity Aggregation

100 percent of precincts reporting

Yes: 73.16 percent

No: 26.84 percent

In races in the 9th judicial subcircuit, Judge Lionel Jean-Baptiste received almost 62 percent of the vote, with just a few precincts left to be counted. Judge Larry Axelrood was the leader in a contest among four candidates, with 38 percent of the vote. His nearest opponent had 33 percent.
