ETHS students participated in the Technology Student Association (TSA) Teams Competition on March 9. The TSA is the only student organization devoted exclusively to the needs of students interested in technology. Teams of eight students work on current issues involving engineering, science and mathematics.
ETHS team members are Erik Baker, Elliot Chanen, Gabi Dallas, Margaret Omori, Erin Roth, Sam Sagan, Sam Straus, and Fiona West. A team of ETHS seniors tied for second place with Fenwick High School in this year’s TSA competition. The theme for 2012 was engineering in the medical and health industry, including problems with artificial heart valves, improved prostheses for artificial hips and knees and the development of drugs that target disease.
“This contest is a favorite for students since it is entirely collaborative,” said Russ Kohnken and Mark Vondracek, ETHS staff members who coach the ETHS team. “It was a great job by everyone involved.”
