Janice MacDonald and Dileep Gangolli, co-owners, Evanston Cellars, LLC

Evanston Cellars, LLC has announced the start of its operations on Chicago’s North Shore.

The new food and wine lifestyles company will begin its business activities by organizing personalized tours of wine trails within two hours of downtown Chicago.

Future offerings will include specialized wine distribution to retailers and restaurants, featuring artisianal wines from around the Midwest; wine education and tasting events; and wine and food dinners co-hosted with local restaurants and offering menus that highlight locally sourced ingredients.

“One of the joys of living in Chicago is finding the hidden gems in our own backyard,” says Evanston Cellars founder and president Dileep Gangolli. “Most people, even serious wine aficionados, are not aware of the robust wine industry taking root here in the Midwest.  Learning about wines and Midwest viticulture offers a fun and entertaining way to spend a day, and we plan to be the leader in creating an appreciation for fine artisanal wines being produced in the Midwest.”
