Book Worm Angels, an organization that collects and distributes books to create classroom libraries for schools in impoverished neighborhoods, held its annual awards ceremony last month. Children’s author Blue Balliett received the Kermit Myers Achievement Award honoring her contributions to children’s reading at the annual awards ceremony last month.

Ed Quattrocki presented the Carolyn Quattrocki award to Stephen Harden, principal of Cameron School in Humboldt Park (Chicago) in honor of his “superior performance in furthering children’s literacy.”
