Work on the eight-story apartment building at 1717 Ridge Avenue has progressed to the point where a tower crane will be erected in order to complete the structure. To put the crane in place, it will be necessary to close Ridge Avenue. Ridge Avenue, between Church and Clark Streets, will be affected. The northbound lanes of Ridge Avenue will be completely closed at Church Street starting next Wednesday evening, June 27, 2012 at approximately 7:00 pm. Because of the anticipated back-ups and delays, please use alternate routes during this closure.
All traffic will be detoured East on Church Street, North on Oak Street and back West on Clark Street to Ridge Avenue. Additionally, one (1) of the southbound lanes of Ridge Avenue will also be closed from Clark Street to Church Street starting at the same time. A single lane on the west side of Ridge Avenue in the southbound direction will remain open during the work. These closures will remain in place until the crane erection is complete.
The lanes will be re-opened Friday evening, June 29, 2012 upon completion of the work. The crane erection is a weather dependent activity and can be delayed by adverse conditions. The map here>>> shows the detour and traffic route for this activity.
