Evanston Police are currently investigating a hit and run accident that involved a pedestrian being struck in the 300 block of Chicago Avenue. Responding to the accident at 12:20 a.m. on June 24, police learned that a pedestrian was crossing Chicago Avenue, walking east, when a vehicle traveling north struck him continued northbound from the scene, said Commander Jay Parrott in a statement released to the press on June 24.
Cmdr. Parrott said witnesses describe the vehicle as possibly a white Ford F150 pick-up truck. The victim, a 46-year-old resident of Chicago, was transported to St. Francis Hospital by Evanston Fire Department paramedics with several injuries and is listed in critical condition. He has regained consciousness and police continue to investigate.
