On July 13 Evanston Police arrested two juveniles, ages 14 and 16, in connection with a robbery that occurred at the C.T.A. Purple Line, South Boulevard “El” Station on June 19, 2012at approximately 2:45 p.m., said Officer Perry Polinski of the Evanston Police Department.
During the incident the suspects forcibly took a female victim’s cell phone. Working with photos captured from surveillance cameras, and both the Chicago Transit Authority and Chicago Police Department, Evanston Investigators identified the two juveniles that were taken into custody, said Officer Polinski.
The juveniles were both charged with Strong Armed Robbery (Class 2 Felony). Additionally, the 16 year old was charged with obstruction of justice. Both are residents of Chicago and were remanded to the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center for custody.
