The City’s Fire and Life Safety Services will hold its first-ever Tweet-Along from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on July 27. Followers on Twitter will get a virtual glimpse of the day-to-day activities at one of Evanston’s five firehouses through tweets, pictures and videos. Participants can learn about the history of the department and even see the Personal Watercraft Team in action.

“This will serve as an educational opportunity for the community to get an understanding of what a typical day for a firefighter looks like,” explained Fire Chief Greg Klaiber. “This will provide a unique glimpse at equipment, procedures and daily routines of our dedicated fire staff. Additionally, it will allow residents to learn more about the department and engage with our firefighter/paramedics in a new way.”

To participate on Twitter, go to Followers will have a chance to ask questions and to win a free ride to school on a fire engine for their child.
