Muse of Fire Theatre Company will once again bring free Shakespeare Evanston. Every Saturday and Sunday from Aug. 4 through Sept. 9, Muse of Fire will cap its 2012 season – a season of plays about tyrants and rebels – with a modern-dress production of “Julius Caesar,” Shakespeare’s timely examination of the corrupting influence of political power. The performances are presented in partnership with the City of Evanston.

“Julius Caesar” will play in Ingraham Park, behind the Morton Civic Center at 2100 Ridge Ave., at 3 p.m. on weekends except Aug. 25 and  26. The outdoor setting, low-tech approach and outstanding acting have made Shakespeare’s plays accessible to all, and that is precisely the company’s aim – to provide its audiences with a thrilling and unintimidating experience much like Shakespeare’s original performances.
