The parade of nations kicked off the annual Ethnic Arts Fair, held July 24 and 25 at Dawes Park. Children placed flags of more than 90 countries around the lagoon, and vendors opened their booths to the public.

Jewelry and clothing, hand-bags and musical instruments offered a soupcon of the many cultures represented at the fair. Entertainment, such as the Armenian Dance Company of Chicago, below, showcased music and dance from around the world.

The next art festival, the last of the season for Evanston, will be Lakeshore Arts Festival, this weekend, also at Dawes Park.
