In this writing workshop, Molly Moynahan, award-winning author of Pitch Perfect: How to Write a Successful College Admission Essay, will help teens access their personal story and turn it into a focused, engaging and effective essay. She will use fun and interactive journal writing and other writing exercises to encourage teens to think creatively.
The workshop is open to high school students in grades 9-12, who are requested to bring laptop or notebook and pen. The workshop will take place from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15 in the Community Meeting Room, which is located on the first floor of the Evanston Public Library (1703 Orrrington Avenue).
“Given how expensive such classes can be when taken privately, we feel this is a great way to give deserving students who could not afford it access to professional help with their college application,” said Adult Services Librarian and Manager Lesley Williams.
In addition to registering online for the August 15 workshop at epl.org, teens may register by calling the Loft at 847- 448-8625.
Copies of Moynahan’s book will be available for signing and purchase during each workshop.
